Liberty Police want to return bikes to owners

LIBERTY, Mo. - The Liberty Police Department has accumulated numerous unclaimed lost or stolen bicycles that have been recovered throughout the city. The police department would like to return the bicycles to their owners.

If you are missing a bicycle, please come to the Liberty Police Department garage at the corner of Kansas and Missouri on Friday, August 1 between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Please provide a valid description of your missing bicycle, or any paperwork you may have showing ownership. If you are not available on August 1, please contact the Liberty Police Department at 439-4715 to arrange a time to see if your bicycle has been recovered. Recovered bicycles are held in storage for six months.

Liberty Police recommend that bicycle owners mark their bicycles for ownership. One way to do so is by discreetly concealing ownership information under bicycle seats. Police also recommend bicycle owners should record their bicycle make and serial number, and use bicycle locks.
