This is the second break that Public Works crews have responded to today. 2. Liberty Public Works crews are working to repair a water main break that is affecting residences located on Jewell Street from Mississippi to Wilson Street and on Wilson Street as well as two William Jewell College dorms.
Public works crews are placing door hangers on the affected residences and have notified officials at William Jewell. Salt trucks have also been dispatched to treat the affected streets. Crews hope to have the repair completed by this afternoon. The break, which occurred earlier this morning, was likely caused by the freezing/thawing cycles that have been prevalent in the past month. Updates regarding the repair will be posted in the Community News section of the City's home page, on Liberty 2 (channel 2 for Time Warner subscribers) and sent out through the News Flash.
We appreciate your patience as crews work to repair the water line. |
