Be On Alert For Heat-Related Illness
Heat Advisory Issued
For Tuesday
Health experts recommend the following to stay cool:
The Johnson County, Kan., Library said its 13 library branches will be open as cooling shelters during normal business hours.
Visit The Mid-Continent Public Libraries to get out of the heat.
The Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center in Mission, Kan., has opened as a cooling shelter through June 24. The center is open from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Salvation Army said it will open eight cooling stations if and when a heat warning is issued or when the heat index reaches or is expected to reach 105 degrees at KCI Airport by 11 a.m. The following Salvation Army locations will be designated as official cooling stations:
