H.R. 5244: Credit Cardholders' Bill of Rights Act of 2008

To amend the Truth in Lending Act to establish fair and transparent practices relating to the extension of credit under an open end consumer credit plan, and for other purposes.

The bill is a long way from becoming law. It has to pass the Senate and a president who said he does not support the measure. But with the credit crisis front and center, consumers have a chance to show they can be heard.
