Small business legal issues topic of March seminars
The City of Kansas City, Mo., Small Business Development Section offers a series of educational business seminars at no cost to participants. The next seminars are scheduled for March 15 and 22, from 10 a.m. to noon both days. All seminars are conducted in the section's office located in the 18th & Vine Jazz District's historic Lincoln Building, 1601 E. 18th St., Kansas City, Mo.
At the March 15 seminar, the discussion will focus on employment issues, what to look out for when financing the expansion of a business, estate planning for your business, buy-sell agreements, intellectual property issues and more. This seminar will be given by Janet I. Blauvelt of Summers & Blauvelt, LC.
At the March 22 seminar, the discussion will focus on the importance of analyzing and interpreting financial information for the purpose of internal planning and making key decisions for small businesses. Special attention will be given to understanding the preparation and analysis of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements. This seminar will be given by the Missouri Women's Business Center.
The Small Business Development Section of the Human Relations Division of the City Manager's Office routinely offers seminars designed to provide participants with practical knowledge needed to enhance their business acumen.
