Apple's 1st iPhone Commercial on the Oscars

Apple steals the show

Forget The Departed, it was the iPhone that really took the plaudits in Hollywood last night.

The iPhone was the real winner in LA last night. (See large view)

Forget Dame Helen Mirren, ludicrous dresses and partying with Hollywood’s A-list, this year’s Academy Awards ™ belongs to iPhone. Apple has been showing off its globe-conquering toy in ad breaks during the ceremony. This is surely far more fascinating than finding out who won the Oscar ™ for sound editing (Letters From Iwo Jima since you ask).

The brief clip shows classic movie stars taking calls in some of their greatest roles. Those saying ‘hello’ range from Marilyn Monroe and Marlon Brando to Betty Rubble and Mr Incredible. Plus there’s Ron Burgundy for good measure. The scenes are followed simply by the word ‘Hello’ followed by ‘Coming in June’. The vid can be seen above.

Circumstances...

People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I
don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world
are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want,
and, if they can't find them, make them.

-- George Bernard Shaw (1856-1950) Irish Playwright
